Good afternoon, everyone. I come from WeiTang Primary School. I have been an English teacher for 16 years.Today I’d like to say sth about English teaching.

    Nowadays, Internet Plus is very popular. On the one hand, Internet Plus can give students more chances to learn English.On the other hand, it can also give teachers more chances to improve themselves. Teachers can choose the most suitable way to teach students. In fact, Internet Plus has great influence not only on education but also our life. It is high time for us to pay attention to Internet Plus and take advantage of it. But when you are teaching, you should pay attention these things too.

   Firstly,You don't need to stick to a lesson plan. This may come as a shock, but things will happen in your class that you don't expect! Students will finish some activities too soon and take longer on others. It is more important to be flexible than stick to something that isn't working.

   Secondly, Every student is different. Now, that may be obvious, but so many teachers forget this when they are teaching and treat each student in the same way. That won't work. Get to know your students, their learning styles and their strength and weakness.

   Thirdly, Have a personality. Be yourself. Let the students see you're a human being and not a teaching machine. Laugh at yourself if you make mistakes. Bring humor into the classroom.

   Fourthly, Be encouraging. Error correction is essential , but if you correct every mistake then you can easily destroy a student's confidence. Praise good work and never tell students they are stupid.

Fifthly, Balance your lessons between different skills. A teacher who teaches 90% grammar is not helping the students. Communication skills, reading, writing, and vocabulary building are all as important as grammar.

    Finally, Have fun! If you enjoy your lessons, then your students will too. I like English and It’s a happy thing to be an English teacher. That’s all. Thank you for your listening.
